Cabby’s Questions: Syrian GP

Formula One is in the second leg of it’s triple header this weekend. We return for the second edition of the Styrian GP. Some key moments happened during last year’s race, Lando Norris affirmed his nickname “Last Lap Lando” with another stellar performance during the last lap to finish in P5. We also saw a Mercedes lockout in the front row with a first and second place podium. This leads us into this week’s Cabby’s Questions.

Will Mercedes bounce back this weekend?

After two disappointing weekends, do Mercedes find their mojo from last year’s Styrian GP and get a double podium or do they get outclassed again by Red Bull and continue to fall behind in the Drivers and Constructors championship?

Can Ferrari stay in the race for the top of the midfield with McLaren?

We are at another quick (non-street race) track this weekend, does that cause Ferrari to fall farther behind McLaren for that all important P3 in the Constructor’s race? Last year’s Styrian GP was not kind to Ferrari, both Ferrari’s collided on Lap 1 which caused Sebastian Vettel to damage his rear wing and retire from the race on Lap 2 and the same collision caused Charles Leclerc to retire on Lap 5. Will Ferrari’s fortune’s change this year?

Will Sebastian Vettel continue his points streak?

After a miserable year with Ferrari last year and a new team this year with Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One Team, has Vettel’s fortunes changed? Vettel has scored points in his last three races dating back to Monaco. This is the first time he has scored at three consecutive races since 2019 (Belgian, Hungarian & German GP). Will Vettel make it four races in a row?

All of these questions will be answered in this weekend’s Styrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring.
