Olympic Basketball Beat: Day 3

In the third day of competition, the Canadians bounced back against Korea and Spain continued their win streak while providing Serbia their first loss. 

Canada 74 – Korea 53

Canada bounced back nicely against Korea after their upset defeat of the Serbians. The Canadians  lead the Koreans in each quarter of the game. The game was a tight back and forth in the first two quarters but Canada broke away in the third. They continued to extend the lead in the fourth and finished with a 21 point victory. Bridget Carleton led the Canadians on the score sheet with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams will play their final group games on August 1. 

Spain 85 – Serbia 70

Spain and Serbia looked to take the top spot of the group with a win. It showed throughout the game that both teams wanted to lead the group. The first quarter was a tight 20-19 lead by Serbia. They extended the lead slightly by 3 points in the second but Spain took over in the third and fourth. Astou Ndour led Spain in scoring for the second game in a row. She had a game high 20 points. Spain look to take the group with a victory over the Canadians and Serbia want to maintain their second place position with a victory against Korea.
